Background Color Remover

Experiment with local color-distance removal for photos with simple, uniform backgrounds.

How Local Background Color Removal Works

Upload a JPEG, PNG, or WebP image. The tool samples corner colors and makes sufficiently similar pixels transparent. Adjust the tolerance slider for more or less aggressive removal.

The entire process runs in your browser β€” no images are uploaded to any server. Download the result as a transparent PNG.

Tips for best results

  • Use photos with a solid or uniform background (white, green screen, etc.)
  • Increase tolerance for backgrounds with slight color variations
  • Decrease tolerance if the subject is being partially removed
