How to Create a Cohesive Instagram Feed
The secret to a professional-looking feed: consistency. Here's how.
1. Choose a Color Palette
Pick 3-5 colors that represent your brand. Warm tones (earth, orange, gold) or cool tones (blue, teal, grey). Stick to them in every post.
2. Use the Same Filter/Preset
Apply the same preset to every photo. Choose one editable reference and use it consistently. Consistency > variety.
3. Plan Your Grid
Use a grid planner app or just preview before posting. Alternate between close-ups and wide shots. Mix content types but keep the color palette.
4. Consistent Borders
Either all borderless (edge-to-edge) or all with white borders. Mixing looks messy. Our editor can add consistent borders to every photo.
5. Same Overlay Style
If you use overlays (timestamp, aura, grain), use the same style + position on every post. This becomes your visual signature.
6. Match Brightness Levels
If one photo is dark and moody, the next shouldn't be bright and airy. Use the same brightness and contrast choices across photos.
7. Reuse a Layout
For stories, choose one aspect ratio and repeat a simple layout. Same font, colors, and spacing make posts easier to recognize.
