Resize a Local Image for Its Destination

Do not rely on a static size list

Social networks, marketplaces, and publishing systems can change accepted sizes, aspect ratios, formats, and crop behavior. Before export, read the current official requirements for the exact destination and placement you will use.

Current browser resizer behavior

1. Open the local Image Resizer and select a suitable image.
2. Enter the width and height from the destination's current official specification, or start from one of the clearly labeled local size presets.
3. Keep the aspect-ratio lock enabled when you want proportional dimensions.
4. Export and inspect the generated JPEG before sharing it.

The selected image is handled locally in the browser for this workflow and is not uploaded to an OverlayPhoto server.

Aspect ratio and output limits

• With the aspect-ratio lock enabled, changing one dimension recalculates the other proportionally.
• With the lock disabled, the resizer draws the image at the exact width and height you enter; this can visibly stretch or compress the result.
• The current resizer exports JPEG, so review transparency and visual detail before choosing it for graphics or screenshots.
• Keep the original file until you have checked the exported dimensions, crop, and appearance.

A repeatable destination check

1. Record the destination, placement, and official requirements you consulted.
2. Export one local test image at those dimensions.
3. Review the result in the target upload flow before preparing a larger set.
4. Recheck the official requirements when the destination changes its product or policy.
